7 day golf school

 

Day 1

Assembly, introduction and registration

Discussion on subjects and schedules for the 7 day school

Stretching

Individual student assessment – interview and video taken for later review, analysis

9.45 am

  • Introduction to the full swing, Grip alignment, stance and posture GASP
  • Supervised practice, coach will begin to work with all students individually, focusing on individuals strengths and weaknesses

12.00 pm

Lunch

1.00- 400pm

9 hole Round lesson with Professionals rotating and playing with each group. Subjects covered while playing inc Mental skills, Strategic skills, Technical skills

How to Practice Properly

Stretching

10.15 am

Individual student video analysis using the ASTAR System, all students will spend time with coach in computer room on a one to one basis with coach pointing out individuals strengths and weaknesses using professional players as models, student will be presented with individual practice plan and drills to be commenced on the range

12.00 pm

1.00 -4.00pm

9 hole Round lesson with Professionals rotating and playing with each group. Subjects covered while playing inc Mental skills, Strategic skills, Technical skills

Review main points from previous days lesson

Stretching

9.45 am

Chipping /pitching presentation in short game area, all facets of and the differences between chipping and pitching will be discussed in the presentation, students will then be given time to practice chipping and pitching in the short game area

11.00 am

Full swing practice, players will be reminded to adhere to their individual practice plan and drills

12.00 pm

  • Full swing practice
  • Students will be videod again to enable coach to assess improvement in technique compared to video taken on day 1
  • Students will be taken one at a time to the computer room to listen to coaches assessment and advice for further improvement
  • After viewing video students will then proceed to the range to continue with their practice plans

9 hole Round lesson with Professionals rotating and playing with each group. Subjects covered while playing inc Mental skills, Strategic skills, Technical skills

   

Day 5

Day Number 5

   

9.00 am

Play full round of golf 18holes, coach will move between groups and assess individuals playing strategy, observance to rules and etuiquitte. The coach will also advise on any other issue relating to individual performance

Free time for individual practice at course or range

Short game presentation

  • Review chipping and pitching principals taught on day 3
  • Advanced chipping and pitching, high low, club selection
  • students will then be given time to practice chipping and pitching in the short game area

11.00 am

Putting presentation

  • fundamentals of putting inc grip, stance, posture, ball postion, arc of the swing etc
  • all students will be taught how to use and the benefits of the Srokebuilder putting aid
  • students will be taught various putting drills in this session

12.00 pm

Lunch

1.00 -

Bunker presentation

  • fundamentals for good bunker play, stance ball position swing etc will be discussed
  • playing bunker shots from different lies ie plugged, wet sand, and uneven lies will be demonstrated
  • students will be individually assessed on their bunker skills

2.00- 4.00pm

Full swing lesson and practice

  • all students will be assessed on their improvement and will be offered advice on future improvement
  • all students will be given one to one time with coach to discuss any issues or problems they may be having
   

Day 7

Day Number 7

   

9.00 am

Golf competition 18 holes

  • tournament will be played according to the rules of golf
  • all players will record scores

2.00 pm

Closing Ceremony and Certificate presentation
